The Science Nation Tour: PSHS – CLC (Philippine Science High School – Central Luzon Campus) in Focus was attended by guests from the PSHS Office of the Executive Director, PSHS System Executive Committee and Board of Trustees, representatives and  directors from the different PSHS campuses, representatives from the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), representatives from the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA), members of the General Parents and Teachers Association (GPTA), representatives from the regional and central office of DOST, and the secretary of DOST himself, Sec. Mario G. Montejo.

The first half of the event was held in PSHS – CLC and  it included the signing of the Memorandum of Agreement (MoA), the unveiling of The Alchemy, viewing of the Grade 10’s researches, and a tour of the Fabrication Lab (FabLab). The second half of the event happened in Fontana Convention Center. The guests were greeted by another set of the Grade 10’s research displays and a robotics exhibit. Mr. Aries Oliveros, chief of the Curriculum Instructions and Services Division, gave an opening speech.

Following him was DTI’s Assistant Secretary of Regional Operations Group Ms. Blesila A. Lantayona who also gave a speech. Sec. Mario G. Montejo led the oath-taking of Dir. Lilia T. Habacon, as she will be leading Pisay CLC for another six years. After her oath-taking, she gave a speech regarding the past, present, and future of PSHS-CLC.  Sec. Montejo went up next and gave a very inspiring message especially directed to the students who were present. After his speech, he was interviewed by a member of the school’s radio broadcasting group, and he answered the questions, both serious and light, to the delight of the audience. The scholars got to know more about Sec. Montejo through the interview and the mini-open forum that followed it. Dr. Julius Caesar V. Sicat, the Regional Director for DOST Region III, gave the closing remarks.

The event took a lot of preparation for the whole PSHS-CLC family, but the effort was definitely worth it.
