With the success of the first-ever Family Day last 2015, it was with great anticipation to start this year with Family Day 2.0. Last January 16, 2016, Philippine Science High School – Central Luzon Campus, once again celebrated the said event with enthusiasm. The event aims to gather members of the PSHS-CLC community, family, friends and students to remind each and every one of us that we are part of a common endeavour. An opening function that allows the whole team to have a bit of fun and socialize in a comfortable environment to create a sense of camaraderie, boost morale, build team spirit and re-ignite vision. Moreover, for each individual to partake in a charitable event that will fund the units of computer for the benefit of the PSHS-CLC students.

The Guidance Center spearheaded the event in partnership with the General Parent-Teacher’s Association. The faculty and staff also showed their support as in charged in hosting the program, registration, game facilitation, presentations, documentations, raffle draws and other related tasks for the said event. Altogether, undoubtedly worked hand-in-hand to ensure the success of Family Day 2.0, for the whole PSHS-CLC community to enjoy while achieving the objectives of the event.

The program proper started at around 8:00 am. It began with ‘Doxology’ performed by Sunis, followed by singing of the National Anthem which was led by Mr. Ruselle Castro (Music Teacher). The program was graced by the message of General PTA President – Pastor Gerry Oarde. His message acknowledged everyone for their unrelenting support to the school and encouraged everybody to continue building a better relationship within the PSHS-CLC community.

The reading of raffle mechanics was initiated by the officers of General Parent-Teacher’s Association. It was clearly defined to guarantee that everybody will not only have fun, but also contribute to a charitable purpose. The special day was warmed up by the performances of different clubs showcasing their talents, not just in dancing but also in music. Absolutely, PSHS-CLC students are likewise artistically exceptional, alongside their academic achievements. To create a sense of camaraderie through a healthy competition, every batch has representatives playing for different parlor games. Namely: Moving on up, The Mummy Relay, Hula Hoop Hysteria, Cheese Ring Relay, Scoop it up and Bring me.

Everyone was undeniably pleased with the outcome of the event, the best way to share, enjoy and talk about good and inspiring stories. Parents, students, faculty and staff got the chance to eat together and bond where hierarchies cease to exist. The program was ended with the message of Mr. Mark Xavier E. Bailon, Student Services Division Chief, acknowledging the efforts of each and every one for the success of the Family Day 2.0
