The CILA was able to source out protective suits and other essential supplies that will help ensure the safety of healthcare providers in Pampanga.

Chemistry teacher makes 70% alcohol out of laboratory closet stocks
By Donna RempilloClark Freeport Zone, Pampanga – Rohit Tilwani, a licensed chemist and a faculty member of Philippine Science High School (PSHS)-Central Luzon Campus, has been able to put alcohol stocks in the school’s laboratory to more significant use.
He was able to dilute 70 percent ethyl alcohol from 100 percent alcohol solution found on their laboratory closets. These chemicals were for students for their school experiments, and since classes have been suspended, Tilwani saw it wise to put it to good use.
“Rather than being left unutilized, we put it to good use. We hope it could help prevent the spread of the virus.” He said.
A total of 600 bottles containing 500 ml of ethyl alcohol were produced.
The alcohol were already distributed primarily to Jose B. Lingad Memorial Hospital (JBLMH) Regional Hospital in City of San Fernando Pampanga and Rafael Lazatin Medical Center which was formerly known as Ospital Ning Angeles.
Some of the bottles were given to police officers manning control points in areas of City of San Fernando, Angeles City, Magalang and also to the main gate personnel from Public and Safety Department of Clark Development Corporation (CDC).
Aside from alcohol, Tilwani was also able to produce 33 bottles of 500 ml disinfectant solution, and these shall be given to barangay Marcos Village in Mabalacat City. Proper usage of the disinfectant includes applying it to surfaces of doorknobs, chairs, handles, utensils and alike.
Tilwani, as head of PSHS-Central Luzon laboratory, is wishing he could come up with more products from the things he has in the laboratory.
“We hope to produce more until our supplies are exhausted” Tilwani wished
Community participation in the school also urged them to produce 200 pieces of 3D-printed face shields for frontliners. CDC, in close coordination with the school, will help distribute the essentials to hospitals in the province.
