by: Sandra C. Guillermo, GSA I
Choosing the correct career can be a very terrifying work particularly in a world which presents a range of courses, all of which seem to be leading to a golden goal. To be able to do this, it is imperative to have the correct career information. The PSHS-CLC Career Guidance Program can help students in pursuing the right courses, in the right colleges or institutes and can guide them in choosing a suitable career.
The PSHS-CLC Guidance Center with the support of the Batch 2013 Officers has organized a Career Forum with the theme "CDC: Choices, Decisions and Consequences" last January 4, 2012 at the Clark Aviation Recreational Hall in Clark Freeport Zone, Pampanga. The objective of conducting the said activity was to orient the students on the different science and technology careers particularly in Computer Science and the various courses in Engineering ? Mechanical, Agricultural, Electronics, and Communications.
The speakers who generously shared their expertise and experiences for the event were Allan M. Espinosa, an alumnus of the PSHS Main Campus and a faculty member in the University of Chicago; Engr. Mary Jane F. Del Rosario who works for National Telecommunications Commission in Region III; Engr. Wilbert H. Balingit, a Senior Science Research Specialist of the Metals Industry Research and Development Center; Engr. Julius Caesar V. Sicat, also an alumnus of PSHS- Main Campus and the DOST Region III Assistant Regional Director for Technical Operations; and Arch. Edgardo Mar A. Castro, vice-president for design in EJR Construction and Development Corporation. The scholars raised their questions to the speakers which the speakers happily and readily responded. The occasion was enlightened by the performances of Arvin Jarell S. Balajadia and Tom John O. Bontoyan (Batch 2015), Hosanna Pacada (Batch 2014), Katerine Rose S. Joson, Regina Martha G. Lumongsod and Jan Carlo L. Lima (Batch 2013), and the Over Under Band. The hosts for the said event were the 3rd year students- Bianca G. Bautista and Cyril John M. Bernardo.
